Canada | Richmond Garlic Festival 🧄
We caught the 12:30 raptor flight show and saw four types of raptors 🦉🦅: Bald Eagle ,Barred Owl ,Black Vulture ,Harris's Hawk The Barred Owl was just a 1-year-old baby and was a bit lazy, not really wanting to fly. The 15-year-old Bald Eagle was very calm, flying back and forth between two staff members, enjoying the treats on offer. The Black Vulture seemed to prefer walking on the ground rather than flying. It was quite bold and even flew over the crowd’s heads, causing cheers and excitement. The Harris's Hawk was making its debut at the official show today and was quite timid. It stayed on a staff member's arm, munching on food and not wanting to fly. There were many stalls selling various things—farm produce, earrings, flowers, and wildlife conservation info. We even saw a real Spotted Owl perched on a staff member's arm! 🦉 Garlic wasn’t widely sold, but the smell of garlic was everywhere, and many people were enjoying garlic ice cream. Under the grapevines, you could sit and eat, enjoy the shade, and see lots of grapes growing 🍇. You could also visit the greenhouse to see farm-grown vegetables like peppers, cucumbers, and beans… 🥒🌶️🫛 Sitting on hay bales listening to live music was very English countryside style—just like a scene from "Pride and Prejudice," with two Western ladies happily dancing 🎸🎻. The whole place had a very relaxed and carefree vibe 🌻. #LifeInCanada #LifeInVancouver #LifeInRichmond #Richmond #Festival #Weekend #LeisureTime #Market #Owls #DailyPhotography
