Cancún Marriott: The Sea Is Truly Stunning

I stayed at the Cancún Marriott All-Inclusive Resort for 3 days in early March—2 days of sunshine, 1 day of overcast skies and rain. Here’s a honest breakdown of the trip, with all the highs (and minor lows!): 🌊 The Sea: The Real Star of the Show This is why you come to Cancún—and the Marriott’s stretch of sea didn’t disappoint! Layers of Color: The water has so many distinct shades—from pale turquoise near the shore to deep blue farther out. It’s visually stunning, even on the cloudy day. Minor Quirks: There’s a little seaweed in the water, but not enough to ruin swims. The sand is fine and soft, but watch out for small rocks—they’re easy to step on when wading into the waves (especially if you’re surfing!). Waves = Fun (and a Workout!): The waves are surprisingly big— I got knocked over and pulled back countless times! But the sea is so beautiful, you’ll definitely want to dive in anyway. I’d 100% come back just for this ocean view. ☀️ Weather: Perfect for a Beach Getaway Early March might be Cancún’s sweet spot for weather: Temperatures hover around 20°C+ (70°F+), so jumping into the sea feels comfortable (no shivering!), and lounging on the beach doesn’t feel sweltering. Even the rainy day wasn’t a downer— the rain was light and short, and the air stayed warm. 🏨 Room: Nice View, But Compact Upgrade Perk: I only got a sea-view room (not a suite). It’s close to the ocean, so the view from the balcony is great—you can hear the waves at night! Catch: The room itself is small. It’s functional for sleeping and getting ready, but don’t expect extra space to relax inside. 🍴 Food: Hits and Misses (Mostly Misses for Fine Dining) The resort has 11 food spots total, including bars, a pizza station, and 4 full-service restaurants—but quality varies a lot: The Good: Pizza station: Fresh, cheesy, and satisfying (great for a quick bite). Taco truck: Simple but tasty—perfect for grabbing a casual lunch by the pool. The Meh/Not Great: Japanese restaurants (teppanyaki + sushi/skewers): The teppanyaki was underwhelming, and the chef kept messing up his tricks. The sushi and skewers were average at best. Mexican restaurant: No reservation needed, but the food lacked flavor (not authentic or memorable). Polynesian restaurant: Dishes were bland—nothing stood out. Bonus Fun: The African kids watching the teppanyaki show were super enthusiastic—they cheered even when the chef messed up, which made the meal more entertaining. Verdict: 3 days of this food was enough. After that, you’ll probably be craving something outside the resort. 🧑💼 Service: Mixed Bag Front Desk: Super slow—there’s usually only 1 or 2 staff members, so lines get long (plan extra time for check-in/check-out). Other Staff: Great! The pool attendants, servers, and housekeepers were friendly and attentive—they made up for the front desk delays. #Cancun #SeasAroundTheWorld #CancunHotels #CancunAllInclusive #Marriott
