Catching an opera at the Teatro Real in Madrid! 🎭
Listen up! All opera lovers coming to Madrid must rush to the Teatro Real. This is the artistic sanctuary of Spain and even all of Europe! 🏆 The Teatro Real in Madrid was originally built in 1818 during the reign of Ferdinand VII. After many twists and turns and a long construction period, it was finally completed in 1850 during the reign of Queen Isabella II. Since then, the theater has been damaged and rebuilt several times, and it finally reopened as an opera house in 1997. 🎭 🌟This time, I was lucky to catch the premiere of “Adriana Lecouvreur” at the Teatro Real. Sitting in the third-tier box with a full view of the stage was simply exhilarating! A clever play within a play, as the curtain opened, we on this side of the stage were transported to the backstage of the 16th-century French Comedy, like voyeurs witnessing all the unsaid tensions. 🌟As Jean-Jacques Rousseau said, “Turn the audience into actors.” We seemed so close to them, yet completely detached from the work. 🌟The predictable passions, jealousy, revenge, and death intertwined and wandered, reaching their peak at the end of the four acts. 🌟Now, let’s talk about how to choose seats: The best view is definitely the Royal Box facing the stage. Next, I recommend the first row of the second or third-tier boxes near the Royal Box. I’m not very keen on the first tier because the angle feels a bit low and requires a slight tilt of the head. For this performance of “Adriana Lecouvreur,” the Royal Box was not open throughout, so I chose a seat in the first row on the right side of the third tier, with an unobstructed and very comfortable view! 🌟Taking the performance of “Adriana Lecouvreur” on October 4th as an example, you can see the official perspective reference when selecting your seat, which is very straightforward!
