Celebrating My Birthday with a Michelin Star Experience in Edinburgh

🔥On the last day of my trip, I wanted my birthday in Edinburgh to be filled with sense of ritual. There are only three or four Michelin restaurants in Edinburgh. After checking out the menus, I chose Martin Wishart, located in Leith, near the seaside. The other Michelin spots are in this area too. 🔥We booked the earliest table at 18:30, and we were truly greeted with warmth. Three staff members attended to us, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. We ended up choosing the Tasting Menu + Matching Wine. The flavors were indeed a cut above most meals, slightly on the salty side, but that’s just my preference. 🔥The amuse-bouche was a stunning cheese soup. Despite being a cold soup, it was rich in flavor, and a sip of the sweet and tangy fruit juice really awakened the taste buds. For the main course, we had scallops, veal sweetbread, and guinea fowl, and a lobster ravioli 🥟 that was particularly memorable. 🔥Still feeling a bit peckish, I decided to add a Cheese Selection to the meal. However, the blue cheese I chose was the strongest I’ve ever had… I wouldn’t recommend it. 🔥The meal was paired with five different wines, selected based on the dishes’ flavors from various regions like Austria, South Africa, and Australia. One of them had a mango aroma that was quite refreshing. 🔥To top it off, a little birthday surprise was brought out, making me incredibly happy. #UK #BritishLife #Edinburgh #Michelin #MyBirthday #SenseOfCeremony
