Chanukah On Ice Returns To Wollman Rink This December — With Upbeat Tunes, Kosher Treats, And A Giant Ice Menorah
One of New York City’s most magical winter traditions is returning just in time for the holiday season! Chanukah on Ice NYC is returning to Central Park’s iconic Wollman Rink for its 18th annual celebration on Tuesday, December 16, 2025–the third night of Chanukah. Since its debut in 2008, Chanukah on Ice has become a beloved NYC holiday event, drawing hundreds of families to celebrate Jewish pride and community under the city lights. Set against the sparkling Manhattan skyline, this festive evening invites guests to skate under the stars, enjoy upbeat music, and take part in one of the city’s most heartwarming seasonal experiences. Throughout the night, guests can glide across the ice to festive Chanukah tunes spun by DJ Yoni Stokar, while savoring complimentary kosher food and beverages included with admission. Keep an eye out for the event’s life-sized Dreidel mascot, who’s known to show off some impressive skating moves! At 7:30 pm, the rink will glow even brighter during the lighting of a giant ice Menorah, a stunning sculpture hand-carved by ice artisan William Bywater. This moving ceremony captures the spirit of Chanukah and offers a moment of reflection and togetherness for all who attend. Chanukah on Ice is a joyful celebration of Jewish pride that brings warmth, light, and community to the heart of Manhattan during the holiday season. Sarah Alevsky, founder of Chanukah on Ice NYC, stated: > Chanukah is a time when the lights of the Menorah represent the power of good over evil, of love over hate. Chanukah on Ice is an opportunity for families to celebrate these values together. At a time when being Jewish could feel fraught and fearful, it is important to host a party that is an unapologetic celebration of Jewish life and an expression of our connection with the global Jewish community and Israel. With heightened safety measures and advance reservations required, families can enjoy the festivities with peace of mind.
