Charleston — the gentle, romantic Southern city perfect for couples' getaways and healing vacations! Hey friends! 👋 I visited Charleston during winter break, and it’s one of those effortlessly chill, non-competitive cities that instantly steals your heart. Here’s my quick travel recap! 🌳 Magnolia Plantation & Gardens The most famous plantation here, known for its wild natural landscapes — lakes, swamps, and lush vegetation. Once a rice plantation, it offers a sobering look into the history of slavery with preserved slaveholder houses and enslaved people’s quarters. A meaningful place to reflect on the South’s plantation economy. 🏛️ Middleton Place (In my opinion!) Even more beautiful than Magnolia — larger, with exquisite landscaping, sparkling lakes, and breathtaking views. 💙 There’s even a dreamy outdoor hotel tucked in the woods (~$200 per night) — highly recommend! 🌈 Rainbow Row A must-visit in downtown Charleston — gorgeous pastel buildings super photogenic! 📸 Just a 10-minute walk to the waterfront 🏖️, with plenty of sweet Southern-style restaurants nearby. 🦀 Charleston Crab House You can’t visit Charleston without eating seafood! 🦀🦞 Their crab and squid are amazing — don’t miss it! We had dinner here on Dec 31, 2022 — just $90 for two people.
