Charleston: A Hidden Gem for Culture-Loving Intl Students in the US ๐ฟ
Charleston โ the gentle, romantic Southern city perfect for couples' getaways and healing vacations! Hey friends! ๐ I visited Charleston during winter break, and itโs one of those effortlessly chill, non-competitive cities that instantly steals your heart. Hereโs my quick travel recap! ๐ณ Magnolia Plantation & Gardens The most famous plantation here, known for its wild natural landscapes โ lakes, swamps, and lush vegetation. Once a rice plantation, it offers a sobering look into the history of slavery with preserved slaveholder houses and enslaved peopleโs quarters. A meaningful place to reflect on the Southโs plantation economy. ๐๏ธ Middleton Place (In my opinion!) Even more beautiful than Magnolia โ larger, with exquisite landscaping, sparkling lakes, and breathtaking views. ๐ Thereโs even a dreamy outdoor hotel tucked in the woods (~$200 per night) โ highly recommend! ๐ Rainbow Row A must-visit in downtown Charleston โ gorgeous pastel buildings super photogenic! ๐ธ Just a 10-minute walk to the waterfront ๐๏ธ, with plenty of sweet Southern-style restaurants nearby. ๐ฆ Charleston Crab House You canโt visit Charleston without eating seafood! ๐ฆ๐ฆ Their crab and squid are amazing โ donโt miss it! We had dinner here on Dec 31, 2022 โ just $90 for two people. From Rainbow Row, you can walk directly to The Market Place for souvenirs and more seafood spots! #Travel #StudyAbroad #USATravel #HiddenGems #Charleston #SouthernCharm #SeafoodLover #CouplesTravel ๐
