Charleston Hit-or-Miss Restaurants: Must-Tries & Overrated Spots 🍽️🔥
✅ GOD-TIER 1️⃣ Husk Charleston A must-try! Fine dining with great value. 🐷 Their menu changes daily — super fresh ingredients. The pork dishes are legendary (best pork chop I’ve had in the US!). Beautiful ambiance, excellent service. 🔥 Book 2 weeks in advance! 2️⃣ Lewis Barbecue Texas-style BBQ heaven! 🥩 Google rating: 4.8 — packed with locals. Brisket, prime rib, and gut sausage are all incredible. Limited parking — go early or expect lines! Affordable + daily specials. 🆗 DECENT BUT NOT GREAT 3️⃣ Pink Bellies Vietnamese-American fusion? More like American-with-extra-cheese. 🧀 OG Garlic Noodle: Basically cheesy pasta with pulled pork (meh). Wings are worse than basic Korean fried chicken. Pho Mai Burger was surprisingly good — juicy and flavorful. Fries not included — order separately. Instagrammable but overhyped. 4️⃣ The Pineapple Hut Pineapple "ice cream" that’s actually shaved ice. 🍍 Strong pineapple flavor, but portion is small. Good for a quick treat near City Market. ❌ SKIP THESE 5️⃣ Hyman’s Seafood How does this have 4.9 stars? 🤔 Decor is fun (celebrity photos everywhere), but food is mediocre. Mussels were stale (several smelled bad!). Crawfish wasn’t flavorful — Cajun seasoning was weak. Over-salted fried calamari. Cocktails are artificially colored and taste worse than they look. Only okay dishes: fried fish and shrimp (but still average). 6️⃣ Pier 41 Cheap but forgettable. 🐟 Fish tacos were decent. Mussels had zero flavor (but at least they weren’t rotten!). Generous portions, friendly service. Conclusion: Charleston’s American seafood spots are underwhelming. #Charleston #FoodReview #MustEat #SkipThese #SouthernFood #USATravel 🍤🚫
