Charleston Travel Guide: Crab Catching Edition π¦
December on the East Coast is too cold βοΈβI desperately needed a warm getaway! If youβre still planning a trip, I highly recommend Charleston, SC. We spent 3 days and 2 nights there and already want to go back! π π¨ Accommodation: The Pinch Charleston β Brand new hotel with in-room kitchens + washer/dryer. Free La Colombe coffee and local pastries in the morning βπ₯. Beautiful design β deserves all its 5-star Google reviews! βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ π Transportation: Affordable rideshares + free downtown buses! π No car needed. Only a 1.5-hour flight from NYC β perfect for a spontaneous trip! βοΈ πΈ Attractions: Rainbow Row + Pineapple Fountain β Can be done in ~1 hour. Loved the European-style architecture and Spanish moss (even though itβs not actually moss π). Shopping Street β Right next to The Pinch β great for retail therapy! ποΈ Magnolia Plantation β Famous gardens with 400-year-old oaks, camellias, and even rare osmanthus flowers! π³πΈ Free βFrom Slavery to Freedomβ tours offered daily β powerful and educational. Casual Crabbing with Tia β The highlight of our trip! π¦ We lucked out with a private session. The team was hilarious and taught us everything β from handling crabs to casting nets. We caught 10 blue crabs! π Took them to a nearby crab house for a garlic butter steam pot β so worth it! π π½οΈ Food: We didnβt get to try many places, but Charleston is packed with seafood spots and pubs! Donβt miss Southern classics like red rice, cornbread, and grits β carb heaven! ππ½ β οΈ Tips: Early December was quiet (low season) β fewer crowds and almost no Asian tourists. Solo travelers should stay alert! π #USATravel #TravelGuide #Charleston #HiddenGems #Plog #CrabCatching #SouthernUS #FoodieAdventure π¦π΄
