Checking in at Umami Sushi And Grill on Long Island, New York ๐
I stumbled upon this place by accident. The pictures looked great, so I decided to give it a try. ๐ก The decor is very Japanese, and the best part is that the waitstaff speaks Chinese. ๐ The sashimi platter I ordered had really fresh fish. The soft shell crab roll was amazing! ๐ The soft shell crab was crispy and perfectly fried, paired with avocado and riceโit was simply divine. ๐ The chawanmushi was just okay, though. At $12 a piece, it wasn't very good value for money. It had shrimp and ginkgo nuts, but nothing particularly special, and it wasn't very filling. ๐ธ The biggest letdown was the eel rice. It had a lot of shredded radish and pickled ginger... a big blob of them, actually. I have no idea why they put so much in the eel rice when it's usually found in sashimi platters. I wouldn't recommend it. ๐ Restaurant Name: Umami Sushi And Grill Address: 1162 Willis Ave, Albertson, NY 11507 ๐บ Overall, it's not very good value for money. The fish is fresh, the ambiance is nice, and the soft shell crab roll is delicious. ๐ #JapaneseCuisine #LongIslandJapaneseFood #NYCJapaneseFood ๐ฟ
