Chicago | Medieval Torture Museum
The museum is located right next to the Chicago Theatre. 🎭 This museum is all about medieval torture instruments—it's definitely not for the faint of heart. 😱 There are sound effects, recreated scenes, and you can even interact with some of the instruments. They also have a dedicated app for guided tours and a fun ghost-hunting game. It's pretty interesting! 📱👻 However, while reading one of the exhibit signs, I came across a mention of a foot-scalding torture method, and it said there have been similar cases in China recently. That struck me as odd, so I mentioned it to the staff when I left, asking if it was a mistake and if they meant to say it was recorded in ancient Chinese history rather than recently. 🤔 The staff member said the curators aren't in Chicago and that the exhibit information is well-researched, but he wasn't sure about the specifics. I asked him to pass along my feedback if he gets the chance. He agreed, but I'm not sure if he was just humoring me. I hope I wasn't overreacting. 🤔 Overall, the exhibition is decent—it's a mix of curiosity and mild horror. Remember to bring headphones! I forgot mine, and it really reduced my engagement. 🎧 #Chicago
