Chicago Restaurant Week | This Mexican Spot Really Doesn’t Disappoint
First stop for 2026 Restaurant Week! Many places were booked solid, but this one still had lunch slots — booked instantly! Didn’t expect much from Mexican cuisine, but wow — pleasantly surprised! Today’s Menu 🍽️ 🌮 Restaurant Week Sopes The masa base is like a savory donut — topped with rich, meaty stew. Three hefty pieces per order. 🫔 Restaurant Week Tamale Corn‑dough texture between sticky rice and regular rice — strong corn flavor, on the salty side. Might not be for you if you don’t like savory tamales! 🍗 Restaurant Week Chicken, Mole Super tender chicken! The mole really has chocolate notes — savory with roasted‑nut aroma. Served with slightly tangy rice and soft, warm tortillas. 🥩 Restaurant Week Brava (Steak) Ordered medium — came out incredibly tender. Spicy scallion‑pepper sauce has almost Chinese‑style aromatics — punchy and fragrant. Mashed potatoes were silky smooth. Highly recommend! 🍫 Restaurant Week Pecan Pie Bar Dense, brownie‑like texture — sweetness builds slowly, chewy and satisfying. 🥥 Restaurant Week Tres Leches Rich coconut flavor, moist cake, not overly sweet. Fresh fruit on the side balances it perfectly. 🍹 Banderita Beer‑based cocktail — strong tomato‑spice notes, fairly boozy. 🥂 Mimosa OJ Simple, refreshing orange juice + sparkling water — never fails. Key Details 📍 🍴 Restaurant: Frontera Grill 📍 Address: 445 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60654 💰 Price: Restaurant Week lunch $30/person + tax + 20% tip + drinks ≈ $60 total. Two of us ordered different sets to share — two appetizers, two mains, two desserts — left completely stuffed! Service was attentive too. Highly recommend if you’re looking to try something new!
