🍰 Chicken Katsu Sandwich & Matcha Crumb Cake! 🥪💚

I’m not really active on social media, but it was impossible to miss all the buzz around Golden Diner—especially those famous Honey Butter Pancakes 🥞🍯 popping up everywhere! Since I was in the neighborhood, I decided to swing by and see if I could snag a table. I got put on the waitlist ⏳ but only ended up waiting a little over 30 minutes—not bad at all! 😊 The diner itself is pretty small and cozy, which definitely explains the waitlists and occasional lines. Almost every table had an order of pancakes—some people came just for those! To make the most of my visit, I also ordered the Chicken Katsu Sandwich 🐔🥪: The staff was super polite and attentive 👏🤗 You can add one or two pancakes with jam for an extra charge — I tried one. It came out hot and fluffy, but honestly, the honey butter was a bit too much for me — so sweet, thick, and rich! 🥺 If there’s an option for plain pancakes next time, I’d definitely go for that! The Chicken Katsu Sandwich was hearty and satisfying — especially after tackling that stack of pancakes! The fried chicken cutlet was crispy and served in three layers, cut into four pieces 🧑‍🍳🔪 Topped with bacon, purple cabbage salad, and just the right amount of sauce 🥬🍶 I only wish the bread was a bit sturdier — maybe rye instead of plain white? 🍞 I also grabbed a Matcha Crumb Cake to go 🍵💚 — it was refreshing, not too sweet, with a lovely matcha aroma.
