Childhood Museum | CLMCE S1 W1 🏛️📚
Orientation Week Day 1 – We gathered at Glasgow Queen Street at noon and headed to Edinburgh’s Museum of Childhood . The program team kindly provided round-trip train tickets for everyone! 🚆💛 The museum has multiple floors, but the space is quite compact, so we entered in small groups. Thankfully, the wait wasn’t long! Inside, there were collections of children’s books, clothes, and educational toys , mostly from the 19th-20th century , all with detailed descriptions. The coolest thing? A vintage Nintendo console (sadly, I forgot to take a pic! 🎮😭). Before entering, the professor asked two questions: 1️⃣ *If your country had a childhood museum, what would it look like? What would stand out or be missing?* 2️⃣ *When does childhood end?* I found myself wondering—does my country even have a museum like this? If so, what would it include? Even within just a few decades, childhood experiences change drastically. How much of our generation’s memories overlap with our parents’, and how much comes from global influences? 🌍✨ As for the second question, most of us joked, *"Childhood never ends!"* But I think some might say it ends before it even begins. 🤔💭 P.S. The weather was unbelievably perfect —someone on the team must’ve checked the almanac! ☀️ Edinburgh under the sun is breathtakingly beautiful. 📍 Museum of Childhood 🚆 Transport : From Glasgow Queen Street → Edinburgh (Waverley) (60-80 min, £12 round-trip on Trainpal). #UK #UniversityOfGlasgow #Glasgow #Edinburgh #MuseumOfChildhood #Museum #ChildrensLiterature #Erasmus
