Classical Style Architecture | Bank of Japan Osaka Branch 🏛️

The Bank of Japan Osaka Branch was designed by the top Meiji-era architect, Kingo Tatsuno! 🌟🌿 It is a Neo-Renaissance-style building, and its teal-green dome can be spotted on the way to Shinsaibashi. It was quite a pleasant surprise to find it there! 🌆✨ Kingo Tatsuno (1854–1919) was an architect. 🌟🌿 After graduating from the Engineering College, he studied in the United Kingdom. Upon returning to Japan, he became the head of the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Imperial University. He designed notable buildings such as Tokyo Station and the headquarters of the Bank of Japan, contributing significantly to the construction of Western-style buildings in Tokyo. 🌟🌿 From the late 19th century to the early 20th century, Tatsuno was involved in the design of many architectural projects that represented the authority of the Meiji government, including the predecessor of the current Tokyo Station, the Central Parking Lot. 🌿 #Osaka #KingoTatsuno #ArchitecturalHeritage 🌟🌿
