Clementi Forest Rainforest Hike is a must-visit! 🌿🌳

Clementi Forest is a super popular hiking trail in Singapore, and I highly recommend outdoor enthusiasts to give it a try at least once. Rail Corridor - Clementi Forest šŸ’• Clementi Forest is the second-largest "secondary forest" in Singapore. The Jurong Railway, spanning 19.3 kilometers, was operational from 1966 and served as a raw material transportation line until it was discontinued in 1992. šŸ“ Entrance There are several entrances to the forest. Today, I chose to start from Albert King MRT Exit A. Turn left and you'll soon see the Rail Corridor. Follow the old train station for about 600 meters, and you'll spot the iconic signs and railway tracks on your right, as shown in Pic 5. Follow the small path alongside the tracks to enter the forest. šŸ’• Clementi Forest doesn't have official trails; the paths are made by previous hikers, muddy, and often require you to climb over branches. If it rained the day before, the path can be very slippery, so always watch your step to avoid falling or stepping into mud pits. šŸ’• Using hands and feet, scrambling and crawling for 1.5 kilometers, it takes about 1 hour to reach the popular railway tunnel. Here, you can choose to continue forward or directly ascend the bridge where there's a bus stop, and this is another entrance to the forest. šŸ”® Precautions: Remember to bring water before (there's no water in the forest) and wet wipes (very useful when your hands are covered in mud from the forest). It's recommended to wear long sleeves and pants; women should avoid wearing short skirts (your thighs will likely be covered in bites from bugs and ants) or white clothes (I've had painful experiences). Regarding footwear, I think it's best to wear rain boots or shoes that are easy to clean. For sun protection, since the entire route is through the rainforest, medium sun protection is sufficient. My first solo hike with my child in the rainforest was filled with many emotions. In a country like Singapore, there's still such a wild place, a tropical rainforest where everything you see is green, and it feels fantastic. I will definitely go again. #HikingSnaps #SingaporeHiking #WhereToGoInSingaporeOnWeekends
