CO |📍 Spuntino – Denver Date-Night Italian Restaurant 🍷
This cozy little spot in Denver’s Highland neighborhood, not far from the aquarium, is all about vibes! Walk in and you’re greeted by a warm, intimate space — not huge, but full of character. Dim lighting, rustic charm, and a basement bathroom next to a small kitchen stocked with pickling jars like a tiny pantry 🫙. It’s a bit noisy, but in a happy, lively way — perfect for dates or couples wanting a relaxed drink ❤️. We tried a dry white wine 🍷 — crisp and aromatic. My rule: if the wine’s good, the food tends to be great too — and I wasn’t disappointed 😋. 🍽️ Appetizers 🥗 Insalata Sunnyside Farms tomatoes, basil, saffron yogurt — light and refreshing 7/10. The server mentioned the basil was locally grown and picked that morning 🌿. 🦌 Alce Crudo Wild-tracked Rocky Mountain elk tartare with ginger, garlic, spiced sauce, and seed crisps. My first time trying raw elk — smooth, rich, beautifully spiced, with a nice crunch from the seeds. Highly recommended! 8.5/10 💯. 🧀 Arancini Roasted corn, goat cheese, marinara, pine nuts — three hearty balls, rich and flavorful with sweet corn and creamy cheese. A bit heavy but delicious 7/10. 🍝 Mains 🍳 Carbonara Handmade pasta al dente, sauce perfectly balanced — not too thick or thin. Guanciale (pork cheek) could’ve been more generous, but still a well-rounded dish 8/10. 🐑 Agnello South Indian–spiced lamb shank, saffron rice, broccoli, cilantro red onion. The lamb was incredibly tender, meltingly soft with deep, layered spices. Sides complemented perfectly. 9/10 💯 — must try! Everything here — ambiance, service, food — is on point. Great for dates or celebrating little moments 🥂.
