Colombotravel :The capital of Sri Lanka
⭐⭐The Red Mosque, located within the Pettah market and not far from the Dutch Colonial Museum, was originally built in 1908 with red and white striped brick walls. In the early 20th century, many sailors arriving in Sri Lanka recognized the port of Colombo by this landmark. ⭐⭐The National Museum of Colombo is the oldest museum in Sri Lanka. It houses a collection of valuable artifacts from various historical periods of Sri Lanka, including stone and bronze statues, gems, weapons, and various woven items, metalwork, and handicrafts from the Kandyan dynasty. It also features murals and Chinese porcelain unearthed from different parts of the country. The "Zheng He Stele" and "Palm Leaf Manuscripts" in the museum bear witness to the history of Buddhism and ancient exchanges with China. ⭐⭐Galle Face Green is a beachfront green space located in the golden heart of the Fort area, with beautiful scenery and a pleasant environment. During the Dutch rule, this area was used as a seawall and fortress. Later, in 1859, the British Governor of Sri Lanka at the time opened this green space, which includes a cricket ground, a horse racing track, and a golf course. ⭐⭐Beira Lake and the Floating Temple, Beira Lake is the heart of the city of Colombo, with cormorants, egrets, and other birds hovering above, making it a favorite leisure spot for locals in Colombo. There is also a beautiful wooden pavilion in the middle of Beira Lake known as the "Floating Temple," which can be accessed via a wooden walkway, resembling a floating temple and meditation center on the water. #Beira Lake#Galle Face Green#Colombo#Sri lanka#trip diary#travel guide#Sri lanka trip#Sri lanka capital
