Cork, Ancient and Beautiful 🏰💖
My partner and I recently revisited Cork, Ireland. Whenever we travel to a new city, we make sure to explore its churches and castles—it feels like stepping right into the Middle Ages! As Ireland’s second-largest city, known as the "Capital of the South," Cork sits along the picturesque River Lee. This city is famous for its rich history and vibrant culture, filled with ancient landmarks like the magnificent St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral and the historic Blackrock Castle, both oozing medieval charm. 📍 St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral – Not far from the city center, every stone here seems to whisper centuries of stories! 🌧️ That day, despite the rain and wind, the gloomy sky actually added a mysterious vibe to the cathedral—perfect for moody photos! 📸 📍 Blackrock Castle – Just 20 minutes from downtown, this fortress made me feel like I was standing in the tide of time with its ancient walls and towers. ⏳⚔️ If the weather’s nice (though it wasn’t for us this time), I’d highly recommend a stroll up Audley Place—the panoramic view of Cork from the hill is breathtaking! 🌄 And here’s a fun surprise: Cork has strong ties to one of our favorite shows, "The Young Offenders"! Many scenes were filmed here, and walking those familiar streets felt like stepping into the series—so surreal! 📺😂 All in all, Ireland is a land of endless stories, where every corner holds a new adventure. #Castles #TravelDiaries #Dublin #LongDistanceLove #ForeignGirlfriend #Nature #TravelPhotography #EuropeTravel #Churches #Wanderlust ✈️🌍
