🍷 Cozy French Bistro Just Steps from NYU | Amelie
Located within a 5-minute walk from NYU, Amelie is a charming French bistro that looks unassuming from the outside but delivers big on flavor and value — especially during happy hour! The crowd is mostly local, a good sign you're in for a solid meal without the downtown markup. 🇫🇷✨ We visited during happy hour and tried a mix of classics: 🍞 Complimentary Bread Served in a cute cloth bag — surprisingly soft and delicious, especially dipped in sauce from the mussels dish. 🦪 Moules-frites The mussels were quite small, but the fries were outstanding — thin, crispy, and disappeared in minutes! 🥩 Beef Tartare Served on very hard baguette slices. The beef itself was savory but not as bright as Korean-style tartare. Happy hour price ($10) made it okay, but not a favorite. 🐙 Grilled Octopus Tender inside with a wonderfully crispy exterior. Flavorful, though portion size was modest. 🥩 Steak Frites Generous cut of tender steak with a huge side of those amazing fries. Could’ve used a bit more seasoning, but great for the price. 🍮 Passion Fruit Crème Brûlée The star of the meal! Creamy, fragrant, with a perfect caramelized top and subtle passion fruit tang. A must-order. 💛 Perfect for a casual date, happy hour with friends, or a comforting post-class meal. Don’t miss the fries and crème brûlée! 📍 Amelie – Near NYU, Greenwich Village 💰 Around $40–$50 per person (less during happy hour!) #AmelieNYC #NYUBistro #FrenchInNYC #HappyHourNYC #NYCEats #WestVillage #DateNightSpot #SteakFrites #CrèmeBrûlée #NYCFoodie #LocalGem
