Croatia 🇭🇷 | Plitvice Lakes + Must-Try Local Restaurant!
We arrived in Zagreb at noon, rented a car, and drove straight to Plitvice Lakes National Park. The route was easy—just a short stretch of highway (€2.50 toll) followed by Highway 1 all the way. Plitvice Lakes Adventure We got there at 3 PM, and the staff said only Route E or F was feasible (the park closes at 7 PM, and Route H would take too long). We chose Route E: Walked to the lakeside and took a short ferry ride (only 2 minutes—way too brief! 😂 If you love boat rides, go for Route F, which covers the lower lakes). Started hiking through smaller lakes (my favorite part!)—winding paths, lush moss, and quiet streams. So peaceful! After 30 mins, the trail shifted to larger lakes with mountain views. Families with kids took breaks here—the path was easy. Reached the summit quickly, then hopped on a shuttle bus back to the entrance. Done! Verdict: As someone who’s hiked in Switzerland, I’d say Plitvice is gorgeous but not mind-blowing. Still, 100% worth visiting! 👍👍👍💝 Restaurant Rec: Vila Velebita 📍 Rudanovac 12a, 53230 Korenica (close to Plitvice!) HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! This traditional Croatian spot specializes in: Roast suckling pig 🐷 Whole roasted lamb 🐑 Grilled squid 🦑 We ordered the mixed grill platter (for 2)—insanely flavorful and tender meat. Even my picky eater devoured half the plate! 😂😂😂 #Croatia #PlitviceLakes #CroatianFood #TravelCroatia #NationalParks #FoodieFinds
