Croatian Culinary Journey - A Foodie's Diary

🇭🇷 Spent a week in Croatia soaking up sun, beaches, and seafood while road-tripping along the coast from south to north. Despite soaring prices post-EU membership, every meal was a win—not a single disappointment! Dubrovnik - Gradska Kavana Arsenal ⚠️ Popular spot—book ahead for harbor-view seats! Walk-ins can snag regular tables when it's quiet. Creamy truffle mushroom pasta and black squid risotto are staples here, but each restaurant adds its own twist. Tuna tartare was so good I ordered a second round! The brined capers (packed with seeds) were tangy perfection. Loved them so much I brought a jar home. Dining by the harbor on a mild day? Pure bliss. 😋 Split - Bokeria 📍 Easy to find in the old town, near a viral gelato shop. Squid ink risotto was oversalted at first, but the staff remade it without hesitation 👍 (with tender chicken bits mixed in). Pistachio risotto was unique but rich—nuts truly live up to their "decadent" rep! Zadar - Restaurant Bruschetta & 4 Kantuna 🌊 Nearly all eateries here hug the coastline, buzzing at night. Outdoor seating = ultimate chill vibes. Grilled seafood platter: Generous portions! Shrimp and squid stayed succulent with a smoky kiss—perfect with local wine 🍷. Rovinj - Stella di Mare & Porta Antica 🍽️ Restaurants nestle around the old town’s edges. Beef carpaccio salad with radishes, olive oil, and dressing: silky yet crisp. Yet more grilled octopus (a Croatian mantra), but the real magic? Chasing sunsets by the sea, then descending stone steps to dip toes in the "jellyfish sea" 🌊. Holiday mode: forever. #Croatia #Travel #HiddenGems #Honeymoon #Europe #Foodie #Seafood #CroatianCuisine #FineDining
