Crossing Canada | Winnipeg, Manitoba πŸŸπŸ”§πŸš—

Nestled on the eastern edge of Canada's Prairie Provinces, Winnipeg stands as the eighth-largest metropolitan area and the sixth-largest city in the country, as well as the capital of Manitoba, with a current population of 750,000. Here are some must-visit spots: Manitoba Legislative Building πŸ›οΈπŸ“œ A stunning classical building that offers free guided tours in English or French. You can take photos but not videos. The architecture and history here are truly captivating! Saint Boniface Cathedral β›ͺπŸ”₯ Although the cathedral was destroyed by fire, its exterior framework remains. The lawn in front is dotted with tombstones, and visiting in the afternoon or evening as the sun slants through creates a profound sense of history. The Forks Market πŸ›οΈπŸ” Cross the footbridge from the cathedral, and you'll find yourself at The Forks Market. It's a haven for foodies and shoppers alike, with a variety of delicious treats and unique trinkets. Don't forget to snap a photo with the old train at the entrance! Canadian Museum for Human Rights πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ’ Located near the market, this museum boasts a striking industrial aesthetic with its steel and glass structure. Although we didn't have time to go inside due to our schedule, the exterior alone is worth a visit. There's a city sign at the entrance for that perfect Instagram shot! Royal Canadian Mint πŸ¦πŸ’° Situated on the eastern edge of the city, this appears to be one of only two mints in Canada. Entrance requires a ticket, but we unfortunately didn't have the time to explore this fascinating place. Centre of Canada Park 🌍πŸͺ‘ Along our journey, we encountered many road signs, but this one was the most picturesque. Make sure to check the map carefully and take the small path off the road; otherwise, you might miss it. A large sign marks the latitude and longitude, and two giant red chairs nearby make for great photo ops! Sunflower Fields πŸŒ»πŸ“Έ A summer highlight in Winnipeg! Search for "sunflower fields" on Google Maps, and it'll guide you to a gravel road. Don't hesitate to drive down itβ€”the fields are vast and beautiful, and best of all, admission is free (unlike in Vancouver, where some folks pay for tickets). Girls, get ready to snap those stunning flower field photos! Welcome Signs πŸ‘‹πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Last but not least, we always make sure to visit the welcome signs of Manitoba and Ontario for that classic Canadian road trip photo! #LifeInCanada #CanadaRoadTrip #CrossingCanada πŸš—πŸ’¨πŸ
