Discovering Matcha at Kosoan🍵
A hidden tea room in Jiyugaoka, a tranquil oasis 🌿 amidst the bustling city of Tokyo. 🎢🍃 During my solo city walk, I stumbled upon this tea room, which even Jay Chou has visited before! 🌇I absolutely love the traditional vibe, and I was so lucky to arrive before the crowds started lining up. It’s also super friendly for solo travelers! I was worried that I might not be able to walk in alone, so I awkwardly asked in broken English and Japanese, "One person daijoubu desu ka?" (Is it okay for one person?) I laughed so hard when I realized that I could just sit anywhere I wanted. 🎢🍃 It was such a relief to find no minimum order requirement! 😄 This place is a century-old house that serves as a tea room, a gallery, and the former residence of the writer Watanabe Fukuko. 🌇 It’s also a place where the famous writer Natsume Soseki used to visit frequently. It’s truly a prestigious family home. 🌟 The garden is small but exquisitely designed. Even in winter, it doesn’t feel desolate. 🎢🍃 There’s a maple tree in the courtyard that has turned a deep red. I can just imagine how stunning it must have been in its prime. 🍁 #RestaurantRecommendation #SoloTravel #Matcha #Tokyo 🌇
