Dragon City - Ljubljana
❣️ This mini capital of 300,000 people, nestled next to the Alps and filled with an Austrian and Italian atmosphere, may be small in size, but it has everything that a European capital should have. 📖 History of Ljubljana ❣️ The history of Ljubljana can be traced back to the Bronze Age, with the earliest documentary records appearing in 1144. In 1220, Ljubljana was granted city privileges and was ruled by the Austrian Habsburg dynasty from 1335 until 1918, with a brief interruption due to the Napoleonic Wars. Ljubljana gradually developed into the political and cultural center of Slovenia. 👍 In 1895, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake destroyed about 10% of Ljubljana's buildings, with shockwaves even reaching Florence and Vienna. After the earthquake, Mayor Ivan Hribar promoted reconstruction, giving Ljubljana a large number of Art Nouveau buildings that coexist with preserved Baroque architecture. 📸 After the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918, Ljubljana became the informal capital of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes, and in 1929, it became the capital of the Drava Banovina province of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. During World War II, Ljubljana was occupied by Italy and Nazi Germany. After the war, Ljubljana became part of Yugoslavia. With Slovenia's independence in 1991, Ljubljana continues to serve as the capital to this day. #France #Ljubljana #MyTravelDiary #RecommendedCheckIn #Guide
