Dundurn Castle: A Must-Visit in Hamilton🏰✨
Spotted this castle in LITTLE CANADA—it’s where former Canadian Prime Minister Sir Allan MacNab’s family once lived. Instantly added to my bucket list!🏰💕 Read many reviews saying Dundurn Castle is just a military museum, but nope! The castle is the castle, and the military museum is a separate building, though both are in the same park.🏛️🛡️ Buy a ticket to Dundurn Castle, and you get FREE access to the museum forever—just hang onto your ticket!🎟️💸 Parking is also FREE!🅿️🎉 The castle is part of Canada’s National Historic Sites.🏅 Built in 1835, it’s a neoclassical Italian-style villa.🏰✨ The tour here is so ceremonial!🎩👗 At scheduled times, a guide in period costume leads the tour.🕰️👩🏫 With 42 rooms, it’s smaller than Casa Loma, but the experience is amazing!🏰🌟 The basement tour left us speechless!😲 The servants’ area has so many bells—each with a unique ring for different rooms!🛎️💬 When a bell rang, servants had to rush to the corresponding room.🏃♂️💨 Even the servants’ living quarters in the basement were spacious!🛏️🏰 Imagine the power and status of the castle’s owner back then!👑💼 #Toronto #TorontoTravel #Castle #Hamilton 🌿🏰💖
