East Coast Gem | St. Augustine: Florida's Spanish-Style Town 🇪🇸✨
Just 2 hours from Orlando, St. Augustine is the oldest European-style city in the U.S., founded by Spanish colonists with architecture that feels worlds away from typical American styles. 🏰🌴 📍 Quick Tips Day Trip Possible: Arrive early, leave after dinner—plenty of time! For Relaxation: Stay 2 days to enjoy cafés, live music, and waterfront breezes. 🏛️ Must-Visit Spots 1️⃣ Flagler College – A stunning campus with red-and-white palaces + palm trees—insta-worthy everywhere! 📸 2️⃣ Lightner Museum – The courtyard feels like "God’s garden" (lush greenery, koi ponds, stone bridges). Inside: Spanish sculptures, stained glass, and vintage furniture. Small exhibits, some areas require extra fees. 3️⃣ Memorial Presbyterian Church – White walls + gold trim + giant blue dome! Closed when I visited, but still gorgeous outside. 🍽️ Food & Drinks Random burger joint (Day 1) 🍔 Harry’s Seafood, Bar & Grille (Day 2) – Food was meh, but live music saved it! 🎤 🚗 Logistics Walking is easy—all attractions are 2-3 blocks apart. Parking NIGHTMARE 😱: Park in nearby residential areas or spend an hour hunting spots. Accommodation: We skipped noisy downtown hotels for a quieter Airbnb (holiday prices + bar noise = no thanks!). If you want nightlife, stay central! 🌟 Final Notes Perfect for history lovers, photographers, and slow travelers! Just bring comfy shoes and patience for parking. 😉 #Florida #StAugustine #OrlandoDayTrip #SpanishColonial #USATravel #StudyInUSA #FloridaLife
