Easter Escape: Ballarat Day Trip by Train đâ¨
With V/Line fares now cheaper, my Easter getaway to Ballarat was the perfect budget-friendly adventure! Hereâs how I spent the day in this historic gold-rush townârain, art, and all. đď¸ Ballaratâs Must-Sees Umbrella Laneway â A tiny alley draped in colorful umbrellas (they change seasonallyâmy pics had pastel hues!). Art Gallery of Ballarat đ¨ (My favorite!) 2nd floor: Gorgeous European donated collections (think 19th-century porcelain + Renaissance sketches). 1st floor: Eclectic modern artâthe front-desk staff even posed for selfies with me! Lake Wendouree + Botanical Gardens 𦢠This 1956 Olympic rowing venue is now a serene stroll spot. Vintage trams still run nearby (peek the Tramway Museum!). The gardens? Petite but prettyâideal for a Sunday unwind. đ Ballarat vs. Bendigo? Bendigo: More cultural events (think festivals + grand cathedrals). Ballarat: Quieter, but its art gallery stole my heart. Missed Opportunity: Skipped Sovereign Hill due to rainânext time! đ¸ Gear: *Sony A7R3 + 24-70GM2* (perfect for moody alley shots). #BallaratDayTrip #MelbourneWeekend
