Eating & Drinking in St. Louis đĽđ˝ď¸
After waiting forever, Mei Wei Mei Ke finally opened! Tried their mala ban (spicy mix), but it was sweeter than expected, and the variety of veggies/meat wasnât huge. Still, the price was decent! Vegas Wokâs boiled fish wasnât the giant red bowl I imagined, but it was so tender and fragrant with that numbing spice! Also loved their cauliflower & beef offal and braised pork rice. Their takeout boiled beef was solid too. Tried Sushi Koi based on your recs! Got the Crazy Roll (salmon, tuna, yellowtail, avocado, spicy mayo, crunch, radish sprouts)âSO GOOD 𤤠The fish was buttery, fresh, and melted in my mouth. Wanted to order another one immediately! Went back to Sushi Koi the next day for the Central West End Roll (shrimp tempura, asparagus, topped with salmon, eel sauce, masago, scallions, mayo, crunch). Not as mind-blowing as the Crazy Roll, but still tasty! Returned to Blue Ocean and showed them a pic of my last sushi order (they called it the Sunny Roll), but what arrived looked nothing like itâway messier and not as delicious. Maybe they changed sushi chefs? đ˘ Besides my usual pho, mango sticky rice, and fried chicken at Mailee, I tried their beef curry rice. It was fine, but felt like something I could easily make at home. Went back to Mailee and tried their stir-fried chicken with veggiesâreally liked the crispy, sweet water chestnuts in it! Tous Les Joursâ blueberry cake was yummy (a little tangy like yogurt). The top-left pastry was great too! The yuzu pie and cream puff were decent, but the egg tart was way too sweet and denseânowhere near as good as the ones back home. Also, these drinks are HUGEâeven the sugar-free version is plenty sweet! #StLouis #STLFoodie #FoodAdventures #SushiLover #AsianEats
