๐ฒ Eating Through Denver #8 // Yummy Hot Pot
๐ Yummy Hot Pot 2500 W Alameda Ave, Denver, CO 80219 ๐ฒ Type: All-you-can-eat hot pot ๐ Experience: Located in the former Kam Wong Kok spot, now transformed into a hot pot joint! The spicy broth was totally mild โ more "beginner-friendly" than fiery ๐ถ๏ธ You order items from a menu (not self-serve), and portions are small โ perfect for trying a bit of everything! Ingredients were fairly fresh, though the meat was cut a bit thick โ especially the chicken (up to ยฝ cm in places ๐) Menu pics in Figure 2 ๐ธ Ended the meal with a complimentary mini ice cream โ a sweet bonus! (Aki does this too, though~) ๐ Grilled Fish Review: Served in a huge plate with lots of broth โ the fish tended to float around when picking ๐ฃ Flavor was pretty good! Worth a try, though I slightly prefer Sichuan Chinese Restaurantโs fish a bit more. ๐ถ๏ธ Spicy Chongqing Chicken: Packed heat but lacked numbing spice โ tasted more like heavy bean paste. Just okay. ๐ง Salt & Pepper Dishes: The seasoning was light, and not as crispy as expected. Flavor was fine โ maybe try the salt & pepper squid instead? ๐ต Price: Hot pot: $20.99 per person โ same as Aki, $2 more than D-Station. โ Final Take: Solid value overall! Service was excellent. Great for those living on the west side of Denver. Of the three AYCE hot pot spots โ Aki, D-Station, and Yummy โ hereโs my ranking: D-Station wins for broth flavor ๐ Aki is popular with international crowds & close to H Mart ๐ Yummy stands out for offering real wok-cooked dishes alongside hot pot ๐ฅข #YummyHotPot #DenverEats #AYCE #HotPotLife #BudgetEats #AsianFoodDenver ๐ฅ๐ฅ
