Edinburgh | This Seaside Restaurant 🌊 Has the Vibe on Lock
Old Chain Pier ✨ An amazing seafood restaurant with a stunning view of the sea. I booked a window seat for lunch; it wasn’t crowded, so I could enjoy my meal while watching the waves! If you go in the evening, you might catch a beautiful sunset 🌅 The ambiance is top-notch! ❗️ Make sure to reserve a window seat in advance! You can mention it in the booking notes or call to arrange it. 👇🏻 Here’s what I ordered: 🐚 Pan Seared Scallops The seared scallops with “black pudding” were a hit with my friend and me. The scallops were large and fresh! (The “black pudding” was something I could handle, but it’s a bit of an acquired taste; some might find it quite unpalatable.) 🍤 Seafood Basket A selection of fried seafood (calamari, shrimp, fish sticks, dried small fish) It was okay as a snack, crispy and served with a sweet and sour sauce. 🦞 Lobster I chose the “Garlic & Butter” preparation method. The lobster was fresh that day (a common concern when ordering seafood; it’s like opening a mystery box). It was a decent size and came with a standard vegetable salad 🥗 🥩 Steak (it was on the special menu on the blackboard) I ordered my steak medium-rare, but it came out well-done, making it tough to chew. The sauce was decently flavored (I wouldn’t recommend it ❗️) 🍋 Lemon Tart The lemon tart had a sweet and sour taste, and it came with a glass of wine. The server quickly explained how to enjoy it, but I didn’t catch it… (In the end, I just poured the wine over the tart and ate it.) 👩🏻🍳 The service was friendly, but the food took forever to come out. There was a long wait between each course, and I was getting impatient 🤬🤬🤬 ⚠️ The food was average in taste, but it’s a great spot for some good photos. 💰 Average cost per person is £50+ (including service charge) #Edinburgh #EdinburghFoodie #EdinburghSeasideRestaurant #EdinburghFoodExploration #UKFood #UnitedKingdom
