Edinburgh Foodie Find | Unlock Scottish Traditional Delights for £12
The Haggis Box Reasons for Visiting: 1. There were no online reviews or shares about this place (no one to give a heads-up, haha). 2. The place has a Google Maps rating of 4.7! 3. It’s located inside some kind of community center??? 🤔 Scotch Egg for £12 Salad🥗 + Chips + A Whole Scotch Egg + Reddish Sauce This was my first time trying it, and it was quite a novel experience. No disappointments! The portion size and the location are perfect for a leisurely brunch. 🥪 I read on Wikipedia✍🏻 that these eggs can be served hot or cold. The one I ordered was cold, and I’m not sure if they offer a hot version. Haggis for £11 I added whisky sauce for an extra £1.5. The dish consists of mashed potatoes at the bottom, pumpkin puree in the middle (Wikipedia says it’s turnip), and on top is the haggis mixed with oats and quinoa. When I first arrived in Edinburgh, a local friend warned me that haggis might taste gamey and not very appealing, but some places manage to make it less off-putting. I thought, since I’m here, I might as well give haggis a try and see what all the fuss is about. 🍖 The haggis here wasn’t gamey at all and didn’t disappoint. The whisky sauce had a slight tanginess to it. I wonder if the red wine sauce would taste different. I also saw some people ordering it without any sauce. 🍷 #brunch #haggis #Scotland #Edinburgh #EdinburghSpecialty #ScottishCuisine #ScotchEgg #FoodieAdventure #UK
