RGE RD is always topping the lists of Edmonton’s best restaurants, so I finally made my way there to check it out! 🌟 Beef Tartare: 4/5 I was a bit hesitant about trying beef tartare, but I’m glad I did. It surprisingly tasted somewhat like a raw fish salad. The accompanying toasted bread had a wonderful smoky flavor from the grill. Overall, it’s quite friendly for beginners, though there wasn’t quite enough beef for my taste. 🌟 Wood Oven Baked Bread: 4.5/5 This rye sourdough bread is fantastic—crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, with a fresh rye flavor. Paired with butter, it was delicious and high-quality. However, it was a bit surprising to get bread with the beef tartare as well, making the appetizers a bit carb-heavy. 🌟 Duck Breast: 4.5/5 When this dish arrived, I was stunned—it was a whole duck breast! For a meat lover, this was incredibly satisfying. The duck was flavorful, exactly how I love it. If only the skin were a bit crispier, it would’ve been perfect. The plum sauce was a great complement with its sweet and tangy flavor. The side dishes were also delicious, though the sprouted wheat berries were a bit chewy. 🌟 Dry Aged Ribeye 10oz: 5/5 This dish, listed as "butcher's cut beef" on the menu, varies in price depending on the cut of the day. This steak was the highlight of the evening—better than any steak I’ve had at home! The cooking was spot-on, with tender meat and a unique charcoal flavor. The braised beef in the fifth photo was served alongside and was rich and flavorful. The roasted king oyster mushrooms were juicy and fresh—absolutely amazing! Overall, nothing was a letdown.
