🌸 Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum / Koganei Park

🍃🌸The most convenient way to get there from Shinjuku is to take the Chuo Line for about 20 minutes to Musashi-Koganei, then transfer to a bus or walk. I recommend taking the bus to get there and walking back to the station on your way out. 🚆 🌸 Koganei Park can be considered one of Tokyo's more off-the-beaten-path cherry blossom spots. I lived nearby for about a year ten years ago and missed the cherry blossom season. 🍃🌸 This time, I made a special trip here, thinking of visiting the old architecture park that my dad loves, seeing the cherry blossoms that my mom loves, and checking out the place where I used to live—all in one go! 🌸 Yesterday was a weekday, but when I got to the park, I found a lot of Japanese families with kids. 🌟🌟 I guess the schools haven't started yet, and with the nice weather, everyone came out to enjoy the flowers. There were lots of picnics, and the park was filled with beautiful, fully bloomed cherry blossom trees. However, the areas under the trees were cordoned off to prevent picnicking, but that didn't stop people—almost all the available grassy areas were occupied. 🍗 The cherry blossoms at the entrance of the park had already started to fall, but the ones inside were at their peak. 🍃🌸 These trees are quite old and very lush. The park is spacious and perfect for admiring the cherry blossoms from a distance, though it's not very convenient for group photos because of the barriers. 🌸 ⛲️ Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum 🌟🌟This lesser-known attraction features original buildings relocated here, making it a must-see. 🍃🌸Many of the houses are open for exploration and are great for taking vintage-style photos. There were a lot of Japanese visitors, but surprisingly, there were also quite a few Western tourists. 🌟🌟 The admission fee has increased from 300 yen to 400 yen since ten years ago, but it's still very affordable!
