El Five Denver – Stunning Views, Delicious Food & Desserts

If you're looking for a restaurant in Denver that offers incredible views, creative dishes, and desserts that break the mold of typical American sweets, El Five is your spot! ✨ 🍰 Desserts That Shine: One of the highlights here is the Kunefe – a Middle Eastern-inspired dessert you rarely find outside the region. While not traditional (no stretchy cheese pull), it’s beautifully reimagined. But the real surprise was the Apple Dessert – we got it by accident, and it turned out to be the star of the night! 🍎🍯 Caramelized "honeycomb" cracked open to reveal tender, not-too-sweet apples over a delicate custard infused with vanilla, honey, and a hint of liquor. The Basque Cheesecake was also unique – round, not sliced, with a perfectly torched top, raisins, and honey brittle. πŸŒ‡ Views & Vibe: The restaurant boasts 360-degree views of Denver! We were seated on the quieter side, but the other side offers a stunning skyline view. There’s also a beautiful bar, outdoor seating, and enclosed glassed-in areas for those who want the view without the breeze. Perfect for dates or special occasions! πŸ’« 🍽️ Food – All Hits, No Misses: We tried almost everything – duck breast, shrimp, burrata, lamb merguez sausage, sea bass, and paella – all delicious! πŸ¦†πŸ€πŸŸ The flavors were bold and well-balanced. Sadly, I missed out on the dumplings due to… well, keep reading. 😬 Service – The Letdown: Our server was overly cautious – constantly telling us to order less. For a tapas place, this was frustrating. 🀨 He suggested only 8 tapas for 9 people (we were hungry!) For burrata, he said one was enough for 9 people (really?!) When we wanted multiple orders of things, he looked concerned The paella "small" portion was shockingly tiny – we needed more but didn’t want to wait 45 minutes Even after seeing the small portions, he still discouraged us from ordering more Wine recommendations were vague, and we waited forever for dessert utensils πŸ’‘ Lighting Pro-Tip: The overhead lighting is perfect for photos – desserts and cocktails look amazing! If you’re into food photography, you’ll love it. πŸ“Έ πŸ’° Price: Surprisingly reasonable! We ordered tons of tapas, paella, desserts, and 4 bottles of wine – with 5% fee, 20% gratuity, and tax, the total was under $1,000 for 9 people. πŸ“ Location: Super convenient – just a 5-minute ride from Union Station!
