Enjoying Authentic Turkish Cuisine at Tokyo's Cultural Center π
I finally made it to Yoyogi's Tokyo Camii for a visit. ππΈ The Tokyo Camii and Turkish Culture Center, located in Yoyogi-Uehara, Tokyo, is one of Japan's most famous Islamic architectural landmarks and an important venue for cultural exchange. The mosque was originally established in 1938 by a group of Tatar Muslims but was later demolished due to disrepair. ππΈ The current mosque, rebuilt with funding from the Turkish government in 2000, has become a significant cultural landmark in Tokyo. π However, I was definitely there to try the authentic halal dishes at the cultural center. We happened to arrive during a tour group's event in the banquet hall, so we had to settle for a lunch bento at the coffee area next to the souvenir shop. ππΈ It was a niche experience, especially with the new flavor of Turkish pilaf. #CarbsAreTheTicketToWinter #TokyoLife πβ¨
