Escape New York | Sam's Point Hiking Day πββοΈ
πThis weekend, I invited friends to drive to the surrounding areas of New York for a hiking trip. Since we are all beginners at hiking, we chose a national park near New York, which offers a relatively easy and interesting trail. Along the way, we can pass by an ice cave and then take a loop around the lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery!π πIt takes about an hour and a half to drive from New Jersey. It is recommended to reserve a parking spot in advance on the official website (newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com). There are two time slots to choose from: 9 am - 2 pm or 2 pm (until closing at 8 pm). The cost is $10 per vehicle plus a $0.95 processing fee. There is a dedicated ticket check point at the park entrance. Mobile phone reception is not very good in the mountains, so it is suggested to take a screenshot or print out the confirmation order in advance, so that the staff can easily register and confirm.π πNext to the parking lot is the visitor center, where you can get a map, and there are restrooms nearby. The staff will patiently introduce how to take different trails. We chose the Sam's Point Overlook to Ice Cave Trail.π #Hiking #MyHikingDiary #TravelDiary #NewYorkLife #NewYorkSurroundings
