🚗 Escaping the Grind: Northern Michigan Trip Day 4/5

Hightlight ‼️: The unstoppable Chinese girl conquered the sand dunes! 💪🏻🇨🇳 1️⃣ Mackinaw City Grabbed dinner and took a stroll yesterday evening. Live music every night! 🎵 Spotted a Bumblebee statue and a kinda-cheap Game of Thrones Iron Throne replica. Also saw a weed-themed fridge magnet for the first time ever. 🍁👀 2️⃣ Fisherman’s Island State Park Stopped by briefly—nice sandy beach, good for swimming! 🏖️ You can enter from the first entrance. Lots of campsites inside. The water starts to smell fishy further in, though. 🐟 3️⃣ Guntzviller‘s Spirit of the Woods Museum A small taxidermy museum 🦌🦉—free entry, donations welcome. It’s actually a little shop selling animal specimens and fur products. Bought a cool hat there. Fun little spot! 4️⃣ Historic Fishtown A super tiny fishing village 🎣—what you see is what you get. The famous photo spot you see on Google is actually private property with “No Trespassing” signs. 🚫 5️⃣ Sleeping Bear Dunes Overlook Entry is $25 per car (valid 7 days). The drive is one-way only. There are supposed to be 12 scenic stops, but many are just educational signs—not that exciting. The real highlight: THE DUNES! 🏜️ Even though the wind blasted sand into my face 😵 and my avg heart rate hit 168 climbing up, lying halfway down the dune watching sunlight sparkle on the lake was absolutely priceless. And I had the whole view to myself—everyone else turned back! 😂 Took me <10 mins to go down and ~40 mins to climb back up (with breaks included).
