Exploring FARIDA: A Taste of Central Asia in New York π
I recently tried a Central Asian restaurant in Midtown, FARIDA. Itβs said to be the first and only halal Central Asian restaurant in Manhattan, with flavors from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. π I dined alone and spent around $70-$80, and the restaurant has a mandatory 20% service charge. π° Manti π₯ These remind me of beef dumplings from home. The filling is incredibly flavorful, and each bite releases a burst of juicy oil. Served with sour cream, it adds a unique aroma thatβs quite delightful. π¦ Samsa π₯ I chose the beef version. These freshly baked pastries have a crispy, flaky crust thatβs perfectly golden. Each bite is filled with flavorful, juicy meat. π Shashlyk π Grilled on fruitwood charcoal, these large skewers of meat come with fries, pickled onions, and ketchup. I ordered the baby lamb, which was marbled perfectly and very tender. There was a slight tanginess in the aftertaste, but it didnβt detract from the overall experience. π π FARIDA - Central Asian Cuisine & Grill 32 Cedar St, New York, NY 10005 #NYCEatingAdventures #NewYork #CentralAsianCuisine π
