Exploring Grand Memories Varadero
Nail the Food, and Vacation Joy Doubles⛱️ When traveling, no matter how beautiful the surroundings are, good food is the cherry on top—eat well, and your vacation happiness instantly multiplies! At Grand Memories Varadero, the dining options are so satisfying, you’ll want to “glue” your stomach to the restaurants from breakfast to late-night snacks~ 🍴 Buffet Restaurants: So Many Choices, These Are Must-Tries! The resort has two buffets: the one near the lobby is larger with more options, and the one by the beach has unbeatable views (you can glimpse the turquoise sea 🌊 while eating). These were our go-to dishes—no misses here: Top picks from the hot food station: Braised pork chops are tender enough to fall off the bone, with a subtly spiced, sweet sauce; grilled fish fillets are crispy outside, flaky inside—squeeze a little lime, and it turns fresh and bright. Don’t skip the purple rice (surprisingly comforting!) or grilled mussels—so fresh you’ll want to lick the plate~ Breakfast essentials: Warm, just-baked rolls stuffed with sausage + melted cheese—hot and messy, but totally worth it; pasta is cooked to al dente perfection, toss in a little ketchup, and it’s pure carb joy ✨ Dessert & fruit overload: Ice cream is a must! Rich and creamy, like eating frozen butter—flavors change daily, but all are delicious. The cakes and puddings at the dessert station aren’t mind-blowing but hit the spot. For fruit, guava and pineapple are my faves—sweet with a hint of fragrance, perfect for a post-meal scoop~ Minor downside: Veggies are mostly grilled or boiled, pretty bland (dip them in the buffet sauces to save them!). But the fruit and meat more than make up for it! 🍽️ Specialty Restaurants: A Heads-Up for French, Italian & Asian Eateries Beyond buffets, the resort has a few specialty spots—service is faster than in Canadian restaurants, but experiences vary: French Gourmet: We tried the beef and chicken—both overcooked a bit (skip if you prefer tender meat). The fish soup is delicious, though, perfect with bread. Drinks and desserts are basically borrowed from the buffet, and salads are similar to the snack bar’s—more about ambiance than flavor~ Asian Restaurant: The fried rice isn’t as good as the buffet’s, and the biggest surprise? They didn’t use pasta for “chow mein” (but it’s not our familiar Chinese noodles either…). Let’s just say, when you eat Chinese food abroad… you know how it goes. Not worth a special trip~ Italian Restaurant: Solid but unremarkable. Pizza has a thin, crispy crust with plenty of cheese—filling if you’re hungry~ 🌙 Snack Bar: 24/7 Lifesaver for Late-Night Cravings The 24-hour snack bar is a lazy traveler’s dream! Grab a bite anytime: juicy chicken burgers, refreshing tuna salad, fried plantain slices, sweet potato chips, pasta, hot dogs… Grab one after a late-night dance session, and happiness hits instantly 🍌~ 🍹 Bars: Everywhere You Look, These Are My Faves Bars are scattered everywhere, but my favorite is the one in front of the main restaurant (great views for sunset 🌇!). Try not to overindulge—beer and mojitos are my absolute favorites. So good! All in all, Grand Memories Varadero’s food totally lives up to “happy vacation” vibes: buffets keep you full, specialty spots offer a change of pace, the snack bar has your back late at night, and a mojito with ocean views… It’s a win! #VaraderoVacation #CubaTravel #IslandFood #AllInclusiveResort
