Exploring Hutong in New York 🌟
📍 Hutong, 731 Lex Ave, right under the Bloomberg headquarters The ambiance is top-notch—dimly lit and upscale, perfect for business meetings or romantic dates. I’ve been to their private dining rooms a few times, and the minimum spend is incredibly reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber in New York! 💪 🔥 Flaming Beef with Chili Peppers A delightful surprise! This dish was swapped in from the “Thousand Peppers, Hundred Flavors” short menu. I thought it would be just another photo-op dish, but the flavors are really strong, and the portion is generous. The Wagyu beef is bursting with fatty, aromatic flavors! Although my friend from the South thought the chili pepper flakes on top weren’t spicy enough, the seasoning is full of aroma, and the garlic cloves are perfectly tender and flavorful. I couldn’t resist cleaning my plate! 🍖 🦞 Sichuan Spicy Stir-Fried Lobster Another main course from the “Thousand Peppers, Hundred Flavors” menu, and it’s also delicious! The lobster meat is firm and chewy, but for someone who loves spicy food, the heat level is more like “mild, mild, mild.” It might feel a bit lonely for those who crave spiciness. 🦐 🦑 Squid with Homemade Chili Sauce The MVP of the appetizers! The highlight is the homemade chili sauce—it’s full of aroma and has a soulful spiciness that’s amazing even on its own. The appetizers also come with shrimp dumplings and vegetable dumplings, which are delicious. I’ve ordered them individually many times! 🥟 #NewYork #HutongExperience 🌇🌟
