First Time Trying Belgian Cuisine at This Popular Brussels Restaurant

On my first day in Brussels, I was excited to try Belgian food at Chez Leon, a highly recommended restaurant I discovered on social media. I booked a table through Google, and it was easy to get a reservation for the evening. The restaurant is just a 5-minute walk from the Grand Place, and it’s like stepping into a fairytale cottage. The decor is whimsical, with lots of Smurf elements, and the staff wear white outfits and chef hats, adding to the cartoonish charm. 🧙‍♂️ The mussels are a signature dish here, available in a variety of preparations—baked, boiled, and even combined with other ingredients. We tried the tomato and cheese baked mussels and the boiled ones. The baked version was more aromatic and flavorful, while the boiled mussels were simple and fresh, though a bit plain. They didn’t come with any sauce but were paired with a refreshing Belgian beer. 🍻 The seafood cream pasta is a must-try! We ordered two servings, and it was delicious. The creamy sauce coats every strand of pasta, making each bite satisfying. The onion soup is also highly recommended. It’s a bit salty, but dipping the boiled mussels in it adds a nice touch. The soup comes with a piece of crusty baguette that soaks up the flavors beautifully. 😋 #Belgium #Brussels #BrusselsCuisine #Foodie #BelgianFood #Food #RestaurantReview #Lifestyle #TravelRecommendations #FoodShare #HiddenGemRestaurant #TreasureRestaurant #BrusselsTravel #BelgiumTrip #Mussels #ExperienceTheFlavor
