Food | GUI🥩, a Newly Opened Korean Steakhouse in New York
Recently, my life as a wage slave has reached new heights. With my coworkers on vacation and my boss treating me like a sheep, left to graze remotely, I achieved the feat of doing 4 people’s work alone🫠 The cost is that every day after work, my brain is too exhausted to think, and I come home like a zombie, collapsing on the sofa waiting for my world’s best roommate & bestie to prepare dinner🥺 On the day my coworker finally returned from vacation, I felt it was a day for celebration, so I dragged other coworkers out for steak to celebrate. Coincidentally, I saw this newly opened restaurant near my office and came out of sheer curiosity to check it out! (Scroll to the end for the address~) 🥩Gui Steakhouse NYC Only after arriving did I learn that this is a steakhouse jointly opened by two Michelin-starred Korean chefs. The first floor is a bar, and the second floor is the dining room. The overall style of the restaurant is minimalist, and the environment is pretty good (after all, it’s newly opened🤣) The menu is a Fusion style. We ordered caviar (it was to etroubleat and felt like a science experiment), and I highly recommend the Spicy Tuna Tartare. The sweet and spicy flavor paired with a subtle sesame oil bread is really delicious! As for the steak, the restaurant’s signature prime rib is indeed excellent with a melt-in-your-mouth texture (note that you can only choose medium rare). I don’t recommend the Korean-style Wagyu rice bowl; it wasn’t anything special, and the portion is really mini. For dessert, I ordered Baked Alaska, which is a modified version of lemon pie. It has Yuzu mousse inside, which I found quite tasty! #RestaurantRecommendation #SteakFeast #TheRitualofEatingSteak #DatingRestaurant #Steak #NewYork #NewYorkLife #NewYorkFood #GlobalEatingTeam #NewYorkSteak #NewYorkExploration #NewYorkRestaurants #Food #NewYorkFoodFun
