Food Adventure with Family & Dog｜Chubby Fish 🐟👨👩👧👦🐕

On our last trip to South Carolina, we thought we’d reached the peak of Charleston’s food scene at FIG — until our server there told us that after work, his go-to spot was actually Chubby Fish! So this time, visiting Chubby Fish was at the very top of our list. We showed up right at 5 PM opening… and still didn’t make the first seating! 😅 But as the first table in the second round, we can confirm: It was absolutely worth the wait! 👍🏼 Sitting at the bar turned out to be the best choice — we got to chat with the chefs! 🧑🍳 The shucker (who expertly opens oysters) shared that he’s also a licensed pilot, marksman, former firefighter, and food truck owner (thanks to his background in the Air Force, Army, and fire service). ✈️🔫🚒🛻 Talk about a cool resume! Chubby Fish is a seafood restaurant with a daily changing menu 🐠📅 — depending on the catch and the chef’s inspiration that day. Every dish was complex and beautifully layered in flavor.
