For a Taste of Wine Ice Cream, Sighnaghi Is Totally Worth It! 🍷🍦
Tbilisi to Sighnaghi is a short drive—just about two hours 🚗⏱️. To avoid rushing, we decided to spend the night there . The town is tiny; you can explore it all in around two hours 🏞️. But what truly surprised me? The wine ice cream! It was seriously delicious—I couldn’t resist having two bowls! 🥄 — For wine ice cream, head straight to the place in Picture 2 ! It’s 7 lari per serving, and they also offer coffee and tea ☕🍵 at reasonable prices. The two elderly ladies serving us had great attitudes 👵! — After indulging in wine ice cream, check out the fortress behind the town (Pics 13–14) 📸! Climb up, and you’ll get a panoramic view of the whole town . The fortress’s internal structure was built during wartime to defend against enemies—it’s fascinating! 🛡️ — For wine tasting, go to the spot in Picture 16 ! Use Google Maps to locate Mari’s wine cellar 🗺️. For 20 lari, you get to taste five different wines 🍷, plus a free glass of chacha 🥃 and some complimentary snacks . The hostess will also explain the winemaking process and the flavors of each wine 🍇. Overall, it was a great experience! 🌟 ⚠️ Make sure to head back to Tbilisi early! The return buses leave at 9 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM—roughly every two hours ⏱️. When I arrived at the station just before 11 AM, the 11 AM bus was already full . I had no choice but to wait almost two more hours and catch the 1 PM bus 😫🕒. The driver didn’t strictly stick to the schedule either—he left once the bus was full . So, definitely arrive early! 🏃♂️ #Georgia #Sighnaghi #SighnaghiWine 🍇🇬🇪
