Ford Foundation Building Architectural Case Study 🌟 Ford Foundation Building 🌳 Location: Manhattan, New York Year: 1967 Architect: Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates 🌳 The Ford Foundation Building was commissioned by Henry Ford I in the 1960s. The architectural firm of Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates designed an uplifting and inspiring space for the foundation's headquarters: a fully transparent building made of glass, granite, and Corten steel, occupying an almost perfect square plot and extending the width of the block between 42nd and 43rd Streets. 🏙️ 🌳The 12-story enclosed atrium garden, designed by Dan Kiley, was the first of its kind in the United States. When it opened in 1967, the building was a spectacular example of mid-century design and an innovative urban space that captured the foundation's mission of social justice. 🌳 In 1997, the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated it an official landmark. #NewYork 🌃🌟
