Fortaleza, Brazil – A Quick Stop on Our Cruise Adventure! 🇧🇷⚓

If it weren’t for our cruise docking here, I doubt we’d ever visit Fortaleza, a hot (literally—it’s near the equator! 🌞), weathered port city in northeastern Brazil. The colonial architecture is crumbling, and honestly, there’s not much to see. The cruise line offered a free shuttle to the downtown market, which felt like a rural flea market—nothing special. We walked 🚶‍♀️ to the city’s most photogenic spot, a historic old theater, snapped a few pics, and headed back. Not exactly a must-visit destination. On the way, we grabbed a deep-fried pastry (filled with chicken/beef—so tasty! 🥟) and a tiny cup of fresh sugarcane juice (way too sweet—no surprise, Brazil runs on sugar! 🍯). Total: 12 BRL (~$2.50 USD). Also picked up some local treats: A huge bag of cashews (32 BRL) 🥜 3 tubes of Natura hand cream (~$17 USD total)—only to realize later they expire in May 😭. But the scent is so good… and they cost $20 EACH on the US website! Next stop: stocking up! 💸 Oh, and coconut vendors here sell them for just 4 BRL each now! 🥥 Now, off to the Amazon River—can’t wait! 🌿🚢 #BrazilTravel #Fortaleza #CruiseLife #AmazonAdventure #BrazilianSnacks #TravelFinds
