Frankfurt Must-See Travel Guide 🌍🏛️
🏰🏰 Frankfurt Cathedral Make sure not to miss the Frankfurt Cathedral, a place where history and architecture are perfectly intertwined. Emperors and kings were once elected and crowned here. The cathedral's grand architectural style is breathtaking. Step inside, and you'll be awestruck by its scale and towering ceilings, making you feel tiny in comparison. Take a close look at the red sandstone blocks on the columns and walls, which are painted white at the seams. People in the Middle Ages used this method to create a visually perfect sandstone effect. Inside the church, there's an outline of a seventh-century chapel, where the tomb of a noble girl is buried. Don't forget to look down and take it in. The width and length of the cathedral are similar, designed for the royal election ceremonies. The regent once left the cathedral through the courtyard, which is also clearly recorded in the murals. You can still see the relics from that time in front of the organ. The Holy Sepulchre Chapel is located on this wall, and passing through the small door in the back wall, you'll feel the rich historical atmosphere. This unremarkable room used to be the cathedral's library, where emperors and kings were elected. On the left side of the high altar, there is an altar dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The walls and windows surrounding the chapel are the only structures from the 20th century that remain intact, quietly standing there, waiting for you to explore and discover. #Frankfurt #GermanyLife #Germany
