Free Dinosaur Museum Near Chicago/Milwaukee
🦖 Dinosaur Discovery Museum in Kenosha, WI 📍Located by the lake in Kenosha, this small but neat museum is perfect for a quick stop. It’s free to enter (donations suggested, $3 per person is appreciated). 🕙 Hours: Closed Mondays Tue–Sun: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM 🦴 What to Expect: A one-floor exhibit featuring impressive dinosaur skeletons 🦕 A lower-level kids’ area with puzzles, books, coloring stations, and a view into a “lab” with Triceratops and other skulls Entire visit takes about 30 minutes ⏳ 👧🏻👦🏻 Best For: Young kids (under 5). Older kids might find it less engaging. ✨ Pro Tip: Bring pennies and quarters – there’s a penny press machine in the gift shop for a fun souvenir! 🌊 If the weather’s nice, take a walk along Lake Michigan afterward. The Kenosha Public Museum is also next door if you want to extend your visit. Great for a half-day trip if you’re in the area – but not worth a very long drive. Still, seeing those giant dinosaur skeletons up close is pretty cool! 😊 #DinosaurDiscovery #KenoshaWI #FreeMuseum #ChicagoDayTrip #MilwaukeeDayTrip #FamilyFun #KidsActivities #TravelWisconsin
