Free First Day - Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris
Wandering through the narrow streets and alleys, behind the stone walls of the Marais district in Paris, lies the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature (Museum of Hunting and Nature). 🕸️ This is not your average museum; it feels more like a private collection room of an 18th-century noble, filled with a fascinating mix of animal specimens, firearms, paintings, sculptures, and modern art. 🎨 Each room is meticulously arranged, blending modern art with classical hunting culture in a way that is anything but dull. Instead, it feels like you're uncovering the secrets of a forgotten, magical house lost in time. 🕰️ One room had me lingering for a long while. It was to the left of the polar bear specimen. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by an indescribable scent, and right in front of me was a glass display case containing two leopard specimens. At first, I thought it was just a specimen room. But once inside, I was utterly stunned: an entire wall encircled the room, with the upper part adorned with various animal head specimens and the lower part filled with glass cabinets displaying antique firearms, each intricately engraved, signed, and with its own story. I couldn't help but wonder if this was once a proud trophy room for a hunter. As I turned to face the room full of lifeless eyes, it felt as though I could hear their silent, blood-curdling accusations. The evidence of past sins forever lies beneath their feet. 💀 #France #Paris #AnimalSpecimens #MuseumWorthVisiting #ParisHuntingAndNatureMuseum
