French Recommended Attraction: Padirac Chasm 🏔️
🌍 Friends, today I'm here to introduce you to a spot that I believe is still little-known among Chinese friends and one of my summer destinations: the Padirac Chasm. 🏔️ The Padirac Chasm is the entrance to a natural cave in the Lot department of France. The Lot department is essentially located in the Occitanie region of France. This Gouffre is just over 15 kilometers away from the famous site of Rocamadour. The open part of the chasm is 103 meters deep, with an underground river at the bottom. This river is part of a vast 55-kilometer river network that can be traversed by boat. The water is quite a sight to see. Non-swimmers need not worry; the boat captain is excellent, and you won't end up in the water. (The entrance ticket includes the boat ride, no extra cost) 📜 The history of the Padirac Chasm dates back to 1889 when the famous French speleologist Edouard-Alfred Martel discovered the underground river. Since then, it has attracted countless scientists and explorers to study and explore. Since then, the Padirac Chasm has become one of the most important geological wonders in France and around the world. 🚞 To enter the chasm, you must first walk down dozens of steps to reach the first stage. After reaching the first stage, you can choose to take an elevator to continue down to the bottom of the cave. Tips: No matter the season, I recommend bringing cold-weather clothing and a jacket because the temperature at the bottom of the chasm is a constant 13 degrees all year round! I also suggest wearing sports shoes for easier walking inside the chasm. 💻 Ticket Purchase: You can buy tickets directly on the website with the same name. I recommend booking a few days in advance because access to the bottom of the cave is scheduled, and tickets sell out quickly, especially in the summer. 🕰️ The visit duration is one and a half to two hours. #FrenchTravel #FrenchPeople #WeekendGetaways #France #FrenchLife
